So I recently had the genius idea to post a social studies related trivia question every so often (I don't know how exactly it will work yet) and ask you, my students, to answer if you would like. I will offer a reward to the first person to answer the question correctly, but I don't know what that reward should be yet. You should all offer suggestions in your posts :)
Here is your first question: After an earthquake in 1906 the city of San Francisco solicited the water rights to this valley in Yosemite National Park. John Muir, an environmentalist and Sierra Club member, led a seven year struggle to prevent the valley from being dammed. In the end a dam was created, forever changing the face of this great nation park. What is the name of this valley? What did John Muir correctly predict about the lake that would form in the valley? You must answer both questions to win.
